Graham News 2003

April 17, 2003

Graham is on school holidays. The kindy takes the same breaks as the schools.
He has this week off and next week off. Then he starts morning sessions at
kindy. He will go Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. Kindy has been a big
hit. Most days he asks to go.

So we are doing terrible on the journal this year. I'll have to work on that.
Graham's birthday is drawing nearer. He keeps talking about blue cakes and blowing
out candles. He is in for a double treat this year. Birthday dinner with a few friends
on his birthday and a party the following Saturday. There will be lots of cake and
candles. I even try to get some blue frosting on one of the cakes.

Graham and I turned up the stereo and danced around the lounge today. We had lots of fun.
He had music class this morning and didn't feel like participating too much but made up for
it this evening.

Graham is dipping his crackers in his applesauce.

Happy Birthday, Graham!

June 21, 2003

Graham had a great birthday party today. Pictures are
here

June 22, 2003

Graham is watching. his favorite show. He loves Fear Factor.
Don't ask me why I let him watch it. His dad seems to enjoy it too.

July 6, 2003

I make some muffins today. Graham lined them up on the counter. Not sure why. Scott
thought that it was some sort of artistic thing.

July 16, 2003

We bought Graham a clock the other day. He kept coming into our room in the morning and
watching the clock change. Now he can watch it in his own room. A couple of days ago he came
into the room at 2am. I took him back to bed and told him he had to stay in his room until there
was a 6 on the clock. A few minutes later he was back in our room. The time had changed to 2:16
or something like that. I took him back to his room and explained that the first number had to
be a 6. He stayed in his room this time until after 6. We are telling him that he has to stay in
his room until the first number is a 7. He has been doing pretty well with that.

Graham likes to play games on the pigger (computer). I think that we are going to have to get
one for him at some point so I won't have to share. ;-)

July 18, 2003

Graham dumped out a box of cereal this morning so he could put it in his big
truck. I guess I should clean up the mess...

July 24, 2003

Graham decided that he needed to get in bed with me this morning. I couldn't convince him that
it wasn't necessary. He squirmed around for the longest time and then went to sleep when it was time
to get up.

August 1, 2003

Graham is making new friends at Kindy. That is good. He likes to play with Joshua.
I don't know how many days they are both there. Thursday for sure.

August 2, 2003

Dad brought Graham a fishing crane to go with his trains and a set of building things.
The coolest thing was the glow in the dark dinosaur pajamas.

August 3, 2003

Graham has been sick all day. I think we have finally taught he to throw up in the bucket.
Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow.

August 9, 2003

Graham is better. It was one of the 24 hours things I guess. He passed it along to me.
Scott, of course, didn't get sick.

August 11, 2003

Graham is at the stage where he asks for kisses on hurts. Today he did something to hurt
his bottom. He came up to my and said "Mommy, kiss my butt".

August 20, 2003

Graham has a new cousin!

August 25, 2003

Graham is looking forward to his airplane ride this week. He is also doing better with the
toilet training. I actually think that there is hope.

August 29, 2003

Where are we going today, Graham? To the airport. What are we going to do there? Get
a kid's meal.

September 15, 2003

Spring is in the air and Graham has been enjoying the day playing out on the deck. We should
have been more adventuresome and gone to the beach, but mom was too lazy.

We saw Finding Nemo yesterday. It recently opened here in New Zealand. Graham really
enjoyed it.

September 17, 2003

Graham got some new shoes today. They flash when he walks. He loves them. We are told that
the battery should last as long as the shoes.

September 22, 2003

I have been getting a package ready to send to Graham's new cousin Kaylee. I told him
we were posting a package to his cousin. He was very concerned that we were going to post
his cousin. I showed him a picture a Kaylee and explained to him who she was and that we were
sending a package to her, not sending her. I don't know if he gets it or not.

October 3, 2003

It has been school holidays for the last two weeks. Graham has missed Kindy. So have I.
He gets to go back next week and I am sure that will make him happy. We didn't do much
during the break. We went to see a movie and play with a friend. Beyond that we pretty much
stayed at home.

November 2, 2003

Alex is here playing with Graham. They are having a good time drive the trucks up and down
the deck. Graham has managed to put holes in both of his socks and his big toes are poking out.

November 18, 2003

Tonight was fish and chips night at the kindy followed by a Christmas pageant. The kids sang songs that they have been practicing for a while. It was great. Graham stood by his best friend, Joshua. They were having a good time. We took the new camera, but it only had the 32 meg stick in it so we didn't get many pictures. Did help that Scott shot some video on it. Pictures are here.

November 19, 2003

Graham asked today if we were going to the pencil. Going to the pencil? I couldn't figure out what he was trying to say. Scott finally realized that he was saying going to the peninsula.

December 5, 2003

Graham was glad to go to kindy yesterday and today. He was also happy to be home with all of his toys. He was out in the conservatory yesterday filling his trucks with dirt. He hasn't been able to do that in a while.

December 20, 2003

Yesterday was the last day of kindy until the end of January. What am I going to do? Graham will surely miss it. He is on the waiting list to go Monday mornings. I am not sure that we will actually get in before we leave, though. The list is rather long. I don't know that he really needs to go another day, but I thought that I would sign him up just in case.

Graham is excited about Christmas. He hasn't been very happy about giving gifts away yet. He really is into presents. We can Alex his present the other day and Graham decided that he needed to unwrap it. sigh...

One of Graham's friend's birthday was yesterday. He had a party at Chipmunks. They had a great time.

December 31, 2003

Graham had a good time walking on the beach tonight. We went after dinner. He was running around and throwing sand. The tide was out and in one spot it had carved out a hole. Graham wasn't paying attention and fell in it. He was soaked, but that didn't stop him. Tomorrow he wants to go back and take his trucks with him. I think we will have to do that.
